If I create a profile with a debug thunderbird build, it will copy symlinks of localstore.rdf and mimeTypes.rdf to my profile folder (in ~/Library/Application Support/Thunderbird/<profile>) which means they will change in my source tree. I have basically fixed it the same way vlad did for Firefox in bug 299149 ; by some Makefile magic that effectively does cp instead of ln.

Comment on attachment 308713 [details] [diff] [review] Proposed patch /mail doesn't require sr, and I'm considerably less sure about whether or not Neil has a Mac than I am about whether or not he has a Tbird build.
