User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X 10.4; en-US; rv:1.9b4) Gecko/2008030317 Firefox/3.0b4
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X 10.4; en-US; rv:1.9b4) Gecko/2008030317 Firefox/3.0b4

I downloaded Firefox 3.0b4 to replace my v2.x browser. When I first started the beta, Smart Bookmarks was where it should be: at the extreme left of my bookmark toolbar. I then quit Firefox and restarted it. Now Smart Bookmarks was missing! Restarting Firefox did not bring it back. Reinstalling the beta also did not restore Smart Bookmarks.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Replace an older version of Firefox with 3.0b4 and leave all profile preference files untouched.
2. Start 3.0b4. Smart Bookmarks should be present.
3. Quit then restart 3.0b4.
Actual Results:
Upon restarting 3.0b4, Smart Bookmarks is missing.

Expected Results:
Smart Bookmarks is still present at the extreme left of the bookmark toolbar.

Smart Bookmarks are no more present in latest versions. WONTFIX?

yes this is now invalid, smart bookmarks folder is deprecated, delete it if you still have it, smart bookmarks are now directly in the toolbar and in the bookmarks menu

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h".

In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows:
Tools | Message Filters
Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New"
Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h
Change the action to "Delete Message".
Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top.
Click OK.

Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter.
