I tried to go to the following site, but it doesn't seem to load up in beta 4: https://plesk.americommerce.com:8443/login.php3 I am able to access it just fine in Firefox 2 and (ugh) Internet Exploder. thanks - Alex Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9b5pre) Gecko/2008031304 Minefield/3.0b5pre ID:2008031304 When I try and connect to the URL I get the error page: Secure Connection Failed plesk.americommerce.com:8443 uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate expired on 04/01/2007 22:53. (Error code: sec_error_expired_certificate) So it seems pretty clear to me why Firefox isn't letting you connect to this site.. Are you not seeing this screen or something? Also, at the bottom of the screen, there is a way to add exceptions to ignore such warnings if you feel that brave :-)

Sorry Steve. I'm totally new at testing out Firefox, so I didn't know that I was supposed to click that "add exception" link. Is this the way that the final release is going to be though? It seems more geared towards developers and not end users.

Hi Alex. Thanks for good testing and thanks for filing a bug too! For me, IE7, Opera 9.26 and Firefox 2 all show an error warning me that the website's security certificate has expired and is no longer valid. Firefox 3 does too, but it is a different warning than that of Firefox 2. (Fx2 shows a dialog where it is easy for the user to click the 'whatever' button to get passed it; Fx3 shows an error page with bigger warnings and a harder way to ignore the warning.) One of the goals of Firefox 3 was to make it harder for the user to ignore such warnings, as they should be taken seriously and not just easily skipped passed. So what you are seeing is expected behaviour, so as you have marked the bug, it is INVALID. But don't let this put you off testing firefox and filing other bugs, more help is always a good thing.
