User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; fr; rv:1.8.1.12) Gecko/20080201 Firefox/2.0.0.12 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; fr; rv:1.8.1.12) Gecko/20080201 Firefox/2.0.0.12 I'm wondering why animated gif are paused when a file dialog shows up, for instance when : -I right clic -> save link/picture as ... -File -> save page as... In fact the problem seems to happen every time another window take the focus : -every file dialog (open, save, -options window -print window But it does NOT happen (good!) with : -page-settings (good translation?) -import/export -toolbar modification -bookmar windows -downloads -modules But every gif is frozen when i drag this windows... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.go to a website with at least one animated gif on the page 2.open a file dialog for example 3. Actual Results: look at the animated gif : paused ! Expected Results: Play the animated gif
Probably a dupe of bug 311718.
Unconfirmed (works for me) on Linux (Mandriva 2009) with Minefield 3.2a1pre (Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.2a1pre) Gecko/20090306 Minefield/3.2a1pre). With both right-click /"save image" and file/"save as", this animated GIF continues to loop whilst the dialog takes focus.
Confirmed on Windows 7 Pro x64 w/ latest nightly of Minefield (build 20100211050928). Latest Chrome and IE versions on the same OS/PC do not exhibit this behavior.

Ever confirmed: true
Severity: normal → S3

Doesn't happen on latest Nightly, and probably hasn't happened since at least Firefox Quantum.
