This problem appears with the given toolbar configuration every time an item from the Tools menu is selected. The problem is reproducible with a clean profile.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Make sure that exactly the following buttons are present on the main toolbar, to the left of the address bar: Back & forward, Refresh, Stop, Home, New tab (see screenshot).
2. Click on the Tools menu to open it, do not move the mouse after clicking
3. Click again to close it, do not move the mouse
Actual Results:
The left edge of the address bar is not correctly repainted until the mouse is moved over it (see screenshot).

WFM, can't reproduce on Vista. Not blocking until we get some confirmations.

The problem is only present with the Windows XP Style or Media Center Style on WinXP (but not Windows Classic Style). I don't know about Vista. Note that it is reproducible only if the left edge of the location bar and the Tools menu have the correct relative position (this is why it was necessary to add exactly these buttons to the toolbar.)
This problem got somewhat more annoying in the last few nightlies because the left edge of the location bar is not being redrawn any more when hovering over it with the mouse.

confirmed using Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9pre) Gecko/2008040504 Firefox/3.0.0 ID:2008040504 with luna theme. works fine in classic mode.
unsure if this is os integration, theme or an other category or even a core issue ...
