(In reply to comment #1) > Work - isn't their a feature of firefox that is relevant to Turkish users that > we can highlight in "work"? We may promote the idea of editing a document jointly. > learn - what is sozluk.sourtimes.org? i went to the site i'm not sure what i'm > looking at and why did you remove the link to the firefox feature: "customize > the search bar" sozluk.sourtimes.org: This's simply a dictionary and its content is created by its users who can start a topic about anything - this could be an event, a person, a statement, a software, a breaking-news or a math rule. Some perceive it as informal Wikipedia, though it's older and bigger in article size than Turkish Wikipedia project. It's one of the most well-known and most visited sites in Turkey. Even famous people keep eye on entries for their name. It's also popular because of humorous entries and error messages found all over the site. Here are some of topics related to Firefox: - Firefox as seen in ComedyMax commercial - Firefox extensions - Firefox facts - How to create Firefox-diabled web site (users criticize designers who don't follow W3C rule under this topic) - Firefox vs Explorer - Google-Firefox relations - Spread Firefox - Firefox for beginners - Using Firefox on Windows XP - Mozzarella Firefox - What should Firefox do with this file? Removal of customize search bar feature: It's removed because we thought that there may be a limit of recommendations for each category. If there's no limit, that can be included in the list. > connect - > sosyomat (i'm not sure what that is but it looks neat) can you tell me more > about it It's a social network where people are connected to each other via tags. Say that you tag yourself with tags 'Firefox', 'rock' and 'being a children in 80's' then you're someone who were a child in 80's, use Firefox and likes to listen rock music. You can also post your views under each tag. > yonja looks like a european facebook equivalent - is that fair description? Yes. In fact it's main target is Turkish users. AFAIK, its founders are Turk. I think they also operate in English to get visitors out of Turkey.
removed blocking of fx3 release. we need to do this but not before 4 days before final final release. on my radar. i'll comment against above shortly
No longer blocks: fx3-l10n-tr
reviewing again Work: office.microsoft.com/tr-tr -- this is a link to downloading microsoft office 2007?? i don't think that's a fit unless i'm missing something? Learn: sozluk.sourtimes.org -- ok tr.wikipedia.org -- ok seslisozluk.com ok Play: lastfm.com.tr -- ok flickr.com --ok Connect: sosyomat.com -- ok yonja.com -- ok for all those new services we should tell the service proviers that we will be linking to them. i can do that (it will take me a bit of time)
maybe we should put sozluk.sourtimes.org under "play" instead of "learn" given your description in comment #2/

Work: office.microsoft.com/tr-tr: This site provides lots of tools and tutorials for MS Office suite. We thought it could be useful. If you tend not to accept it, it's OK. sozluk.sourtimes.org: I think it should stay under "learn" and has nothing to do with "playing".
ok on sozluk.sourtimes.org - thanks for explanation i'll double check on microsoft site tomorrow - need to think about this a bit more
hi, don't think the microsoft link is the best for what we're doing. these links should highlight best of web in these categories for users in your language - this page seems more of a desktop product specific page that doesn't fit the web theme of tools on the web we're pointing to. otherwise ok and suggest we close this bug and update the bug 428145.

Dropping MS Office link is OK for us. I'll start localising Getting Started page.
Here's the localised Getting Started page in Turkish. There're some changes, though. I'm asking for review. Work: - Dropped MS link as you asked. - Kept LinkedIn as I thought it could be useful. Learn: - Changed ntvmsnbc.com.tr to ntvmsnbc.com because it wants to be linked that way and ntvmsnbc.com.tr sometimes failes to load. - Kept HowStuffWorks.com as I thought it could be useful.
