Typically, for en-US articles, we use bugzilla for new articles; and I've warned people on <http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Creating+articles> that we won't know about new articles if there is no bug. For the most part, we have been able to catch new en-US articles that don't have a bug number, when viewing the action log at the end of each week. The big problem is that when someone translates a KB article, that translated version stays in the staging area, and no-one is notified. We could potentially already have many translations still waiting for review, with no-one knowing about it.

I suppose watching the entire staging area is too much watch-mail, although it is a possible solution, no? We should perhaps instead have a watch by language feature.

watch by language has been added by lphuberdeau to Tiki. We'll have to merge in code.

Could I get some info on how to test this? And do we still need "push-needed"?
Comment 6•16 years ago

Removing "push-needed" keyword since this has been deployed to production.
Keywords: push-needed

Ping! How do I test this?

Need to enable "User Watches" and "User Watches Translations". Under MyTiki / My watches, use Add Watch / A new page is created in a language Select the langage Add.

Hello, I think this bug could be reopened because it is deeply connected to this ones https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447903 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=451509 Now by now, although this function is actually implemented, no one will be notified about new content for a specific language if contributors will not be able to assign a language in the translation phase.

Bug 447903 and bug 451509 affect the usefulness of this feature; but once they are fixed, this feature should still work. I don't see any reason to re-open this.
