Build Identifier: Thunderbird

This is happening only when I use Thunderbird to send responce. My mail also shoes MailScanner as checking my email and my provider states it isn't coming from them. I don't have MailScanner on my computer. I'm using AVG antivirus software. I was using Norton when I first noticed the problem (last week). It's really annoying and Yahoo says it is my provider/Provider says it is Yahoo. It only happens when I use Thunderbird, not when I post directly thru my provider or the yahoo group homepages.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Send email to Yahoo group thru Thunderbird

MailScanner is software running on some server - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MailScanner

Try sending the same mail to another e-mail address you have access to also, then if they both have the problem, the issue is with your ISP, if only yahoo gets mangled, yahoo is causing it. (My bet would be the ISP though.)

->INVALID, thunderbird doesn't change the subject

I have tried sending emails to yahoo groups directly thru my isp's site and they do not have the (disarmed). It only happens when I send the messages using thunderbird. My ISP has added MailScanner, I don't know if that's the problem or not. It is happening to a few other people with other providers.

What do you mean by "directly thru my isp's site"? Through some web page? If so, that's totally unrelated - it would use completely different protocols.

They have an address for webmail to use when you are traveling. I can send a response to a yahoo group email thru that without having the message appearing. I can post a message to a yahoo group directly thru the group without having the message appear. I can send an email to another person without having the message appear. It appears when I send an email to the yahoo group using the same email address but thru Thunderbird.

Asking google, <http://www.google.fi/search?q=MailScanner+disarmed>, the {Disarmed} is something MailScanner adds, presumably if you are using html tags it strips.

That would explain that webmail worked, it's commonly pure plain text.
So, send as plain text to avoid it. (Compose using shift + reply so you don't even see the formatting options is one way, or set the pref for it.)

I think I have it figured out. When I reply and take out all of the (Disarmed) or Re: parts and leave only plain words, it doesn't show up. Evidently it doesn't like it if you don't do that.
