Details

When importing bookmark file like below, the description that belongs to the first link gets attributed to the parent container.

<DL><p>
    <DT><H3 ADD_DATE="1085949728">Tasks</H3>
    <DL><p>
      <DT><A HREF="">Buy a notebook</A>
      <DD>Check whether HP or Lenovo
      <DT><A HREF="http://www.mozilla.org/">Work on Firefox</A>
    </DL><p>
</DL><p>

Some people may misuse bookmarks for TODO items as I do ;-) If we decide they should not be doing this, we should ignore the description if the previous URL was invalid.
This is a type of dataloss, requesting blocking.

How would we get this in bookmarks in the first place? If this is "if I hack bookmarks.html by hand the import goes bad" I don't think it blocks...
Import from Fx2 or from some other bookmark manager which allows empty URL.
This does not block the final release of Firefox 3.

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h".

In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows:
Tools | Message Filters
Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New"
Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h
Change the action to "Delete Message".
Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top.
Click OK.

Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter.
