Or entries into blogs, forums, email, whatever that you don't want to do in one sitting but are worried Fx might crash while gone. This is consistent with saving the current page as a PDF using any virtual PDF printer. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Manipulate standard user inputs on any page 2. Save Page or frame 3. Open the saved file. Actual Results: Page appears as it was originally loaded by Fx (ie, according to its original source code. Expected Results: Page is saved and displayed the way it looked at the time it was saved. Yes, I know it's too late for inclusion into Fx3.0. Only recommended for standard inputs: forms, checkboxes, radioboxes, comboboxes, etc since they're simple. Trying this for AJAX or the DOM would be a huge undertaking. Could be by taking the original code, find the current state of each input, change the saved version of the code so that the default data of the input is that current state. Eg, if the current selection in combobox "Severity" is "Enhancement", change the default state from "Critical" to "Enhancement."
This is a mass search for bugs that are in the Firefox General component, are UNCO, and have not been changed for 800 days and have an unspecified version. Reporter, can you please update to Firefox 3.6.10, create a fresh profile, http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/managing+profiles, and test again. If you still see the bug, please update this bug. If the issue is gone, please set the resolution to RESOLVED > WORKSFORME.

No longer a bug: CLOSEME
Severity: normal → S3

In a world of SPAs, this seems much less tenable to achieve in a consistent manner. Can we close this as WONTFIX?

I don't think it's an invalid enhancement request, of course it may not be possible to do it on every site, and it may be really complicate to do properly, but I could see users wanting to store what they see at that time.
I found Bug 293834 that was apparently fixed for the old Mozilla Suite.
We can keep it for future evaluation, I think.
