User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9b5pre) Gecko/2008032304 Minefield/3.0b5pre Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9b5pre) Gecko/2008032304 Minefield/3.0b5pre Problem: When visiting a website that quickly redirects the browser [in particular westlaw.com - even before login] and does a pop-up blocker check [even if pop-up blocker is disabled] the browser crashes without warning. Both of the listed URLs have this problem. This occurs every time. The optional entry portal is lawschool.westlaw.com and when you go to Westlaw Research [if you have a login] it immediately crashes. I have not found other sites that cause this - however this problem did not exist in the past. This also occurs on the direct URL: http://web2.westlaw.com/default.wl?fn=_top&rs=WLW8.03&vr=2.0.2 Background and Observations: This problem did not exist in Firefox 3 beta 3 and does not exist in Firefox 2 any version. This problem appeared in Firefox 3 beta 4 and still exists in the nightly builds. I have used this in both OS X 10.5.2 and Windows Vista and have had this problem. However, it is not consistent in Vista. Whereas, in OS X 10.5.2 it occurs every time, consistently. I have tested this on two different OSX 10.5.2 intel macs and have not found a way around it even after completely clearing all Firefox settings and profiles. I have attempted removing all plugins and this problem still occurs. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. On Intel OS X 10.5.2: Start Firefox 3 beta 4 or later. 2. Type in the location bar the URL: http://www.westlaw.com/ 3. Watch the browser crash. Every. Single. Time. Actual Results: Browser crashes. Expected Results: Browser displays page, doesn't crash. This may be caused by the javascript on the page, however it doesn't occur anywhere else on the Westlaw portal site - except the research pages. It appears to be related to the login request information. I do not have a debug build installed [nor the time to do so, sorry] so have been unable to test the explicit cause.

I attempted downgrading, older versions no longer work. I tracked my install history, it appears to have started after last weeks Safari update from Apple. This also occurs in safemode.
