It just hangs and says "0 contacts online." When I use the latest version of Seamonkey it loads instantly and accurately showing all of the Yahoo addressees that are currently logged on. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Create a Yahoo email account with other Yahoo email addresses in your contacts. 2. Look at the top of the page and it will say near the sign on "loading chat." 3. It will fail. 4. Go to Seamonkey and do the above. It will load instantly. Actual Results: The chat function in Firefox did not load but did in SeaMonkey. Expected Results: Firefox should be able to load chat inside Yahoo email.
Does it work in the Firefox safemode ? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_Mode
I'm having the same issue. I am using Firefox 3.0.12 and Yahoo Mail Classic (not new Beta version). When I log into my Yahoo email account, the "Chat and Mobile Text" tries to load and cannot. Instead it continually says "loading..." and prevents me from getting into my email Inbox to read my email or to compose email. I've noticed that when I close Firefox and reopen, I am then able to then log into my Yahoo Mail account and the "Chat and Mobile Text" loads normally, allowing me to access my Inbox and compose new email. I've also noticed that, during the times the "Chat and Mobile Text" does not load in Yahoo Mail, the "News" and "World" tabs on Yahoo.com also do not function (and vise versa. I know that when I cannot access these tabs on Yahoo.com that my Yahoo email account will not work properly either). Again, when I close Firefox and reopen, the tabs begin working properly. Lastly, I also use a Zimbra email account and I've noticed that the personal folders I've set up in my Inbox do not appear at times (and this occurs concurrently with the problems I've listed above) and that closing and reopening Firefox also corrects this problem. I've not tried Firefox in safemode to see if this solves these issues, however.
