Details
The HTML that is generated when a request is made to view differences between
two files in the CVS repository is cluttered by multitudinous instances of the
HTML code, "<FONT FACE='Lucida Console' SIZE=-1>".
Now, this is not a big problem in most cases, but it does add an extra 34 bytes
to the HTML file per line of code. So if you are comparing two versions of a
file in full source diff mode that each are, for example, 4902 lines, then the
font tags are adding about 352k to the HTML file, which comes out to about a
27% increase in file size.
It would be nice for people on slow connections (like myself) if the font tags
were entirely removed (and it would cause no significant visual problems in my
opinion--in fact it would look more like LXR). I think this would be a really
simple change which would save a lot of bandwidth.
