User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.12) Gecko/20080209 Firefox/2.0.0.12
Build Identifier: Lightning 0.8 2008033118
After the latest install of the Lightning add-on in Thunderbird, I cant' resize my message when in "wide" view. If I select "Classic" view, I can resize, but not in Wide view. The "cursor" appears properly when positioned over one of the window boundaries indicating that I should be able to resize, but it won't let me resize.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Select "View" --> "Layout" --> "Wide View"
2.Position cursor over the boundary between the message pane and any of the folder list, mail list or the Lightning event list until the cursor changes indicating that the window can be resize (a straight line with an upward pointing arrow beneath it)
3.Attempt to resize the window
Actual Results:
The message pane won't resize
Expected Results:
I would expect the message pane to resize, no matter what Layout I have selected

I am using Windows XP and have the same problem after upgrading Lightning from 0.7 to 0.8 on Thunderbird 2.0.0.12. In addition, I have no status bar in Wide View, although it is present in both Classic and Vertical View.

I cannot confirm the window resize issue, but the status bar is indeed missing.

Probably caused by the sidebar changes in the Task Mode that increased the required height. Try to collapse the calendar list and the task filter list in the sidebar to reduce the required height.

All that shows in my Thunderbird window is the task pane. Of course my folde list and my message list still shows, but that has nothing to do with Lightning. Closing that task pane has no effect. I still can't resize the message pane and in a long message, I can't get to the bottom of it because there is no down arrow visible on the scroll bar.
Yes, I *can* use my mouse wheel to get to the bottom of the message and yes, I can open the message in a new window, and the scroll bar works fine, The point is that I didn't have to do this until the last upgrade to the Lightning add-on for Thunderbird.
I really like Lightning, so please make things work like they did before the last upgrade to the addon for Thunderbird! :-)

I have been able to get the status bar back and resize the message pane by switching to calendar view and back to mail view several times, while adjusting and readjusting the various panes. Through trial and error, you can get the changes to stick every time you restart Thunderbird. Just don't move anything once you have it like you want. This is simply a workaround until a proper fix is made.

Has anybody tried to reproduce this with recent Thunderbird 3.0pre + Lightning 1.0pre nightly builds? I could not reproduce such a situation using Windows XP.
