When I update beta version and run the 2.0 branch, I am prompted with security messages: "you are about to leave...", "data sent unencrypted..." and so on. I make my preference know, including deselecting the checkbox of repeat confirmation, so I shouldn't get the messages. It works until the next update of the beta version. Somehow my preferences are overwritten and I am prompted with the same messages again. very annoying. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. have stable and beta version of FF 2. update beta version 3. launch stable version and visit secure sites Actual Results: previously set preferences of not to be notified about security warning have no effect. Expected Results: no security warnings to show up once the preference is made known. I have not found a workaround, and I have updated the beta 3 times now.
One workaround is to set the relevant prefs in user.js. (I use this workaround for a similar issue that I encounter due to switching between nightly builds and debug builds.) Another workaround is to pick one version of Firefox and stick with it ;)
