Quick find has mal formed grahical anomolies as you type. Looks like the "clear" function isnt aware of the correct control size

When typing into the quick find weird graphics appears, dots, bits of letters left behind etc....
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Press ctrl=f
2.Type into find bar (should see @dot@)
3.Backspace out your characters, should see trash left on the bottom.
Expected Results:
only what I type should be visible.
