Maybe addons.mozilla.org shipped the wrong build? Does it work when installing manually from <http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/addons/2313/lightning-0.8-tb-macosx.xpi>?

Someone else with a Mac could verify that a.m.o really offers the wrong .xpi file?
Downloading from AMO and installing on Mac x86 WFM; however I don't know what package AMO delivers when updating via "Find Updates...".
I checked the update feature via "Find Updates..." with a Mac PPC machine and it works for me. Downloading and installing the 0.8 xpi from AMO works for me, too.
Resolving WFM per previous comments.
