Printing any page in ff3 to an automatically detected cups printer fails. Using CUPS manager to inspect the IPP report, it says "/usr/lib/cups/filter/rastertopips failed". (Nb. this is for the pips printer, it's rastertoXXXX with other printers, but the same symptom of no printout)
Printing to File, either pdf or ps works. It takes *ages* though, acts like it's completely hanged for -say- 2 minutes for a simple page. The PDF created is ok, but also takes a similar length of time when sent to the printer. (The same web page prints immediately from konqueror)
Discussed on irc and was advised to submit bug.
tried ff2: prints to cups printers fine.
same error on this build downloaded from http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/firefox-3.0pre.en-US.linux-i686.tar.bz2 08-Apr-2008 04:55

You mentioned something about "/usr/lib/cups/filter/rastertopips failed" in IRC -- can you post where you found that message, and any other interesting context?

Interestingly(?) I have a Virtual (PDF) Printer set up in CUPS. If I choose that to print to[1], then it still takes a long time on many pages[2], but *does print*.
[1]: I'm drawing a distinction between the built-in "Print To File" printer within which you can select PDF, and the CUPS printer which actually creates PDFs instead of sending the job to a physical printer.
[2]: This page prints quickly. But, for example, the "User Preferences" page with the "Email Preferences" tab selected took c22 seconds to print, which I consider to be strange.
Could it be something to do with the postscript it creates?

do you see this issue still with version 3.6 or 4.0 beta?
