User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; es-ES; rv:1.9b5) Gecko/2008032620 Firefox/3.0b5 Build Identifier: DeltaSynch is a new protocol introduced by Microsoft in Windows Live Mail to superseed WebDAV. Reproducible: Always
All nice and well, except that it appears that no publicly-available specification is provided. Heck, not even Microsoft OE supports it. Recommending a RESOLVE WONTFIX, at least for the next, oh, two years.
Component: Account Manager → MailNews: Networking
Product: Thunderbird → Core
QA Contact: account-manager → mailnews.networking
Oh, the specification will appear. If not from Microsoft, from external sources. The name already hints how it'll be based.
Summary: Support for DeltaSynch protocol → Support for DeltaSync protocol
Product: Core → MailNews Core
Even given a complete open source implementation with a license we can use, we still wouldn't take it, because Microsoft is completely free to change any part of the auth, or what goes over the wire, or the compression format, or what's in the compressed payload, at any time, and we're not interested in getting into a situation where they dictate when we release updates. That's one of the reasons we have extensions that can update separately from the application itself.

I found the following page: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=18568 It maybe contains the specifications for DeltaSync ! Regards, Martin
