Scrolling on the new mozilla.com main page under Linux seems to invoke some Linux bad scrolling performance bug. So far I have not found any other pages ont he site that have this issue. Either the Linux scrolling bug needs to be fixed by Firefox 3.0 release (probably not likely) or the page design should be changed to avoid the issue.
I also filed bug 430361 on the Linux scrolling issue.
I should elaborate that it is not just that it is slow, it is that it is jerky and you get artifacts of different sections of the page appearing multiple times while you are waiting for it to finish scrolling.
This should probably be marked as a duplicate of your other bug to avoid confusion. This seems to be a limited performance issue on some Linux configurations, so it probably doesn't warrant changes to the website. For now, I'm changing the summary to better reflect the nature of this bug.
