User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9b5) Gecko/2008032620 Firefox/3.0b5 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9b5) Gecko/2008032620 Firefox/3.0b5 If I open the bookmark Library (Ctrl+Shift+B) and I delete all bookmarks (except the default folders with "Delete" option disabled), then the arrow down at the right of the address bar shows garbage text instead of the recent sites or links I visited. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Run installer and install the program (v3beta5) with all the default options. 2. Go to Tools->Options->Main and set show a blank page at startup. 3. Go to Tools->Options->Privacy and disable the "Keep history..." option. 4. Open the bookmarks library by clicking Ctrl+Shift+B 5. Delete all bookmarks that firefox allow to delete. 6. Clear all private data. 7. Restart firefox. 8. Start navigation (google.com, make a search, click on results, ect). Actual Results: The arrow down at the right of the address bar (address bar history) shows 3 lines of garbage text when I click on it. Expected Results: The arrow down should show what I have entered in the address bar or links I clicked.
Can you attach a PNG screenshot?

IIRC this was fixed some time ago, those are places queries (not exactly garbage :) ) and should have a zero frecency (so they should not appear at all in the dropdown). Actually i cannot reproduce, the dropdown does not contain anything for me. reporter could you retry with RC1?

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h". In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows: Tools | Message Filters Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New" Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h Change the action to "Delete Message". Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top. Click OK. Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter. Gerv
