If I cut & paste a bookmark folder in the bookmarks manager all bookmarks in it will be deleted.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new bookmark folder under the bookmarks toolbar with some bookmarks in it.
2. Use the bookmarks manager to move this bookmark folder via drag & drop into another bookmark folder (eg. the new intelligent bookmarks-folder). The bookmarks in the new folder are still there.
3. Drag & drop does not work to move the moved folder back to its old position under the bookmarks toolbar. So you have to use cut & paste to move the complete folder.
Actual Results:
After that there are no bookmarks in the new moved folder.
Expected Results:
1. Moving the folder via drag & drop should work (Steps to reproduce #3).
2. All bookmarks in the moved folder should be still there.

Firefox 3 Beta 5 ist the Default-Browser of Ubuntu 8.10. So this could happen to a lot of people.

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h".
In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows:
Tools | Message Filters
Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New"
Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h
Change the action to "Delete Message".
Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top.
Click OK.
Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter.
