User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; nl; rv:1.9b5) Gecko/2008041514 Firefox/3.0b5
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; nl; rv:1.9b5) Gecko/2008041514 Firefox/3.0b5

When I load a web page containing much data during a couple of seconds firefox hangs en is unresponsive. Sometimes this happens when nothing is active but primary when something is loading. If I click the wrong hyperlink I can't correct it because firefox is hanging untill the new page is loaded.

(tested on ubuntu hardy firefox 3 beta 5)

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start firefox
2. Load a heavy webpage
3. Click the inteface or the document, unresponsive and slow.
Actual Results:
Firefox became slow for several seconds (very irritating and frustating) and buttons and hyperlinks didn't work. It seems that especially large images can break firefox 3's performance.

Expected Results:
unresponsive firfox

Have you been running any processes with lots of hard disk io (apt-get upgrade, trackerd, software compilation, ...)?
If so, this might be bug 421482.
You can check by calling
   strace -f -tt -T -e trace=fsync -p `pgrep firefox-bin`
The last number in each line shows the time firefox spends waiting for fsync.
