Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9b5) Gecko/2008032620 Firefox/3.0b5 Build Identifier: version 2.0.0.14 (20080421) THe updater attempted to upgrade Thunderbird to version 2.0.0.14, and upon restarting THunderbird it started cycling between restarting and an error dialog stating that a file was locked. I had to remove the updater xml files to get it to revert to the previous version. I manually downloaded the full installer for 2.0.0.14, and attempted an upgrade. It complained that the file mozMapi32.dll was locked. I ran a utility that shows all open files by process and discovered that the Logitech QUickcam application had this file locked. I closed that application and install/upgrade proceeded normally. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Have an older version of THunderbird installed (e.g. pre-2.0.0.14) 2. Run Logitech Quickcam installer (taskbar icon must be visible) 3. Attempt to install 2.0.0.14 Actual Results: Won't install. Mozilla mapi driver is locked. Expected Results: Thunderbird is upgraded. Either, 1) identify the file that is locked (by the updater) and prevent the endless cycle of reapplying the upgrade (had to kill thunderbird in task mgr to get it to quit) 2) automagically close the QUickcam app to allow install/upgrade to proceed or 3) identify the application that has the file locked.
