Tried in safe mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_Mode If you still crash, do you get the quality feedback agent popping up? Please give the crash id.

Actually, I think status shouldn't have been changed at all... Was it working before the upgrade to 2.0.0.14?

Did you try to reinstall (the full version)? If it doesn't work, does it work if you install the older version - get it from here: http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/releases/
