screenshot 1

Occurred on 10.4 Tiger, while testing Shredder Alpha 1 build 1, with build ID
version 3.0a1 (2008050714). I'm sure Leopard is affected as well, on a Intel Mac.

1: Create the correct Gmail settings, and log in with your password.
2: The arrow to signify drop down folders off "Gmail" is missing, but is present for 2.0.0.x.

See screenshots. Screenshot 1 shows the arrow beside "Gmail" not being present, while screenshot 2 shows what happens after double-clicking where the arrow should be.

Do you mean some "expand subfolders" twisty, or what does the "array" mean on mac? Still happening?

I mean the arrow to "expand subfolders". Still happens on version 3.0a2pre (2008061113) with a fresh profile on Leopard.

Don't think this blocks alpha 2, taking off blocking‑thunderbird3.0a2 nomination, but I think this should block thunderbird 3.

wait, do those screen shots mean the twisty isn't visible, but you can expand/collapse the hierarchy? So we know it's a parent folder?

Yes, the twisty isn't visible, but I can expand/collapse the hierarchy.
I'm fairly sure this is a duplicate.

I haven't heard of this before.

Do you see twisties in the thread pane (in threaded mode, of course)?
If not, do you see twisties if you use SeaMonkey (Default Theme)?
If not, do you see twisties if you use SeaMonkey (Modern Theme)?
(If you still don't see twisties then I'm going to get really worried!)

Gary -- is this _only_ for gmail, or does the same problem happen on other servers? and is the problem only present for imap servers?

non-gmail example

here's a non-gmail IMAP example with subfolders. Note the absence of the twisty beside "inbox".

Unfortunately I don't have a non-gmail POP example that has subfolders.

Gary: try creating a subfolder in the Local Folders account. (That's roughly pop.)

Doesn't seem to affect local folders. The twisty arrow appears consistently once I create a folder in, say, Drafts.
Has anyone come up with STRs for this? Gary, does it happen on fresh profiles?
