User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.8.1.14) Gecko/20080404 Firefox/2.0.0.14 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.8.1.14) Gecko/20080404 Firefox/2.0.0.14 I searched for this problem using the exception and code and did not find any results. I have been experiencing this problem for about a week now. Firefox crashes when I scroll down, about twice a day. At first I thought it was happening when there was a video on the page (which I am not playing, and which I am scrolling past), but I am not sure if that is the case as today it crashed on the BBC News front page, which I don't think has an embedded Flash video. I scroll using the arrow keys. The majority of the time, my tabs are recovered, but at least once they were not. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to a web site such as guardian.co.uk, or bbc.co.uk (the two sites which crash most frequently for me) 2. Scroll down, using the arrow keys. Open a lot of tabs. Scroll some more. 3. Actual Results: I read these news sites every morning, and it crashes at least once. I typically get another crash later in the day, but I haven't noted it being associated with any site in particular. Expected Results: I expect it not to crash. reporter: this is caused by flash content, could you please get a precise page copy link location to TextEdit.app before loading them. try loading the page in Safari.app try disabling flash, and then loading the page. try installing noscript and then using it to download the flash files so that you can keep a copy.

Could you please try the latest Flash Player release, 9.0.124.0: (www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer)? I see in your crash log that you are using 9.0.115.0. Thanks.
timeless: I will try to note down the exact URL the next time it crashes. However, please note that this does not happen every time--if I restart the browser after a crash and go to the same page, it doesn't crash (I have never seen it crash immediately after a restart). Therefore, I don't think that trying Safari or disabling Flash will add any new information, but I'm willing to try it. I do agree with you that the problem seems to be linked to the Flash player, although I'm not even trying to play any of the movies which are embedded in these pages (I use Gnash instead). I will probably explicitly disable Flash to prevent this form happening again, once I am able to get you an example URL.
A crash happened today when I was viewing the following page and scrolled down: http://books.guardian.co.uk/review/story/0,,2280514,00.html The second crash report is from this crash. A third crash happened just moments later, when I restarted Firefox with the restored session and then opened a new tab to report the previous crash. I was on the page to add an attachment to this bug, and it crashed when I scrolled down. This crash is detailed in the third report. I had several other tabs open at the time and suspect it was the flash content on one of these pages which caused the problem, as the bugzilla page certainly had no flash on it. I am including a list of all the other URLs I had open at the time. For the second crash, all of these pages were already loaded, but for the third crash many of them were still reloading. Sorry for the long list, but I'm trying to include all possible culprits. All of these pages had been open since the previous evening or longer: file:///Users/ann/startup.html (a plain HTML file with some bookmarks on it) http://www.seattlecheesefestival.com/event/guide/index.html http://www.filmmuseum.nl/website/exec/fronthomepageread1/bbadaheghgca? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polydactyl_cat These pages were opened today: http://news.bbc.co.uk/ http://books.guardian.co.uk/review/story/0,,2280514,00.html (second crash page) http://www.guardian.co.uk/travel/2008/may/17/sicily.italy http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2008/may/17/genetics http://lifeandhealth.guardian.co.uk/family/story/0,,2280592,00.html http://lifeandhealth.guardian.co.uk/gardens/story/0,,2280100,00.html http://www.expatica.com/nl/articles/news/CEOs-threaten-to-leave-The-Netherlands.html http://www.expatica.com/nl/articles/news/Shortage-of-police-cells-in-Amsterdam.html http://www.expatica.com/nl/articles/news/Dutch-traffic-problems-have-passed-point-of-crisis.html http://www.expatica.com/nl/articles/news/Misleading-financial-ads-face-fine-of-EUR-2-million.html http://www.expatica.com/nl/articles/news/Dutch-immigration-exam-discriminatory_-says-Human-Rights-Watch.html http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/gallery/2008/may/16/fashion?picture=334168784 http://lifeandhealth.guardian.co.uk/food/recipe/0,,2280724,00.html http://lifeandhealth.guardian.co.uk/food/story/0,,2280082,00.html http://lifeandhealth.guardian.co.uk/health/story/0,,2280331,00.html http://lifeandhealth.guardian.co.uk/wellbeing/story/0,,2280093,00.html http://lifeandhealth.guardian.co.uk/family/story/0,,2280497,00.html http://lifeandhealth.guardian.co.uk/family/story/0,,2280496,00.html http://lifeandhealth.guardian.co.uk/family/story/0,,2280500,00.html http://lifeandhealth.guardian.co.uk/women/story/0,,2280454,00.html http://lifeandhealth.guardian.co.uk/women/story/0,,2280485,00.html http://lifeandhealth.guardian.co.uk/consumer/story/0,,2280464,00.html http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/05/17/mega.millions.ap/index.html http://www.cnn.com/2008/HEALTH/conditions/05/07/miraculous.memory/index.html http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/05/16/acid.slaying.ap/index.html http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/europe/05/16/croatia.body.ap/index.html http://www.cnn.com/2008/LIVING/wayoflife/05/16/rs.phrases.to.avoid/index.html http://www.cnn.com/2008/LIVING/wayoflife/05/16/common.driving.mistakes/index.html http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/05/17/naacp.president/index.html This page was open for the third crash but not the second: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?bugid=433365&action=enter
