This is probably a duplicate, but might be a good testcase for Firebug 1.2. Basically leave network monitoring on in Firebug, and leave that test page open overnight. On Mac OS X, with Firefox 3 RC1, I found memory consumption rise to > 1GB, and does not decrease when closing out the tab with this test page.
RC1 is not officialy released yet. You probably downloaded a "build 1", version. Please also provide a Build ID when submitting a bug. Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; fr; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008051202 Firefox/3.0 I hope a new build of FF RC1 will be released soon because on both Mac and Windows using FF RC1 have a lot of speed issues. As soon as a RC1 build passes all QA tests, a formal announce will be published. As for your specific bug, I'd wait for an official RC1 and test out if these issues still exist.
Why are you using Firebug 1.1 instead of Firebug 1.2? Does the problem go away if you update?
lacks response to comment 2 => incomplete if you stil see the problem, please comment in the bug
