most visited, recently added and recent tags bookmarks folders can be deleted from bookmarks menu or personal bar but can't be restored. I think they should be (because i'd like to).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Ctrl+Maj+B
2.Delete recently added folder
3.Try to make it reappear
Actual Results:  
No way to have these special folders anymore, as far as I know.

Expected Results:  
Perhaps replace delete by disable/enable, or a radiobox in add new folder window to add these folders.

Adding bookmark with such URL works but not very easy :
place:queryType=0&sort=8&maxResults=10

Set "browser.places.smartBookmarksVersion" to 0 in about:config and restart Firefox.

as stated in Comment #2, there's no UI for that, but there's another report asking for a UI for smart bookmarks

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h".

In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows:
Tools | Message Filters
Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New"
Conditions: Body   contains   places-to-b-and-h
Change the action to "Delete Message".
Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top.
Click OK.

Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter.
