While trying to organize my bookmarks I attempted to write my own descriptions for my bookmarks. While my description appears in the Description: field when I type it that entry is gone when I return to that bookmark. If I am showing the Description field in the above display it never shows any description. The Tags: and Keyword: fields seem to be fine, the problem is only with the description.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open Organize Bookmarks
2. select a bookmark
3. click on 'More"
4. enter a description
Actual Results:
no description is saved

Expected Results:
see the description I entered for that bookmark

using Firefox 3 Beta 5 from Ubuntu 8.04 upgrade
The problem with descriptions seems to also be present with tag descriptions. I can't get them to stick either

can you still reproduce with current version?
no answer, resolving incomplete, could be due to importbookmarksHTML set to true or to an add-on or to a beta bug.
feel free to reopen if you can reproduce on current version.

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h".

In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows:
Tools | Message Filters
Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New"
Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h
Change the action to "Delete Message".
Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top.
Click OK.

Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter.
