Two plain text composition windows open for same imap/ssl account. Don't recall which I started first. msgA had comments plus an attachment. msgB was just text. All recipient addresses are in my AB.
I initiated send of msgA and it stays at "Delivering Mail". I went to msgB and was able to send msgB. Went back to msgB and again it stays at "Delivering Mail". I did ctrl-S to save msgA to drafts and I was then able to successfully send the message. I had successfully sent messages prior to msgA and msgB. I have a very large imap log, but not an smtp log.
I've seen this sort of thing a few times in the past 2 years. Symptoms similar to above - appears seemingly temporary and random, some messages send while others don't, ctrl-S saving the message to drafts clears up the condition.
Unlike bugs like bug 413240, bug 206408, bug 390136, etc I don't see any "Copying to sent folder". My symptoms are more like bug 326301 (but not always) or Bug 305139 – mail accounts go to "Delivering Mail" an never connect to MTA.

attachment was added to msgA using attachment icon and file picker. attachment is .eml file created from another message on same account.
