User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008051206 Firefox/3.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008051206 Firefox/3.0

When I open few tabs and the current tab is not the first, and want to set my homepage to the url in this tab, clicking "Use Current" takes url from first tab rather that the active tab.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open two tabs
2. Activate the second tab
3. "Options"->"main"->"Use current"
Actual Results:
url is taken from first tab

Expected Results:
url is taken from active tab
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9pre) Gecko/2008051522 Minefield/3.0pre

When more tabs are open it will set all open tabs as homepages (button: Use Current Pages).
Confirmed also for Mac OSX Leopard Firefox 3.0.1

The home page should be taken from the currently active tab and not just from the first open tab.

Setting all currently open tabs as homepages is also not desirable, since if you only wanted the current page you would have to close every other tab.

The feature is very misleading.
Confirmed on Windows XP Home and Professional, and Ubuntu 8.04. Using Firefox 3.03.

The homepage is not being taken from the tab which is currently visible. The URL that appears is from the first tab in the tab list.

This seems like a simple bug to fix, maybe I can fix it fast and submit a patch.
Confirmed on Mac OS X 10.5.6 (9G55) with Firefox 3.1 Beta 2

Please give some STR we can follow here. Using the button inside the preferences sets ALL pages as home page. So the url from the first tab will appear at the beginning. But all other URLs (tabs) are separated by '|'.

Steps to reproduce

1. Open multiple tabs ( 2 or more )
   ( Suppose google.com in 1st tab and yahoo.com in 2nd tab )

2. Activate any tab other than 1st tab.
   ( Suppose I have 2nd tab(yahoo) as active tab )

3. Now go to " options -> general -> Use current pages "

Actual result :: It sets both (google.com and yahoo.com) as homepages using "|"

Expected output :: It should set only yahoo.com (as it was my active tab) as homepage.

If i want to set only yahoo.com as my homepage, than I need to close all other tabs.
which is troublesome. Do most of the people really need more than one page for homepage ?
Arpit, this is a different use case. It is expected that when multiple tabs are open all of them will be taken for the homepage. So this is not a failure specifically. If you want to see this changed, check if there is already another enhancement bug. But I don't think that this will be changed.

As workaround you can drag the Favicon to the home button in the navigation toolbar.
