I haven't found a bug that describes this accurately for FF3, though bugs 204290 and 98554 are a bit reminiscent.

In FF3, if you block images from a server, the image is completely removed from page layout, despite having height/width attributes set, and despite having an alt tag.

If the image was also an anchor, the anchor is completely gone as well.

In FF2, the image's place in layout is maintained, so pages don't collapse without their images loaded, and anchors are still available to be clicked.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.  Open attached testcase in FF3
2.  Alt/Right click on image, select block images...
3.  Watch as page layout changes drastically.
Actual Results:  
Page layout collapses, text on either side of image touches, anchor disappears for good until image is unblocked.  No alt text appears either.

Expected Results:  
Page layout would be retained, anchor would still be available, alt text would be displayed.

This is on a fresh install of latest FF3 beta, no extensions, Win XP SP2.  I haven't seen any preferences to change this behavior, if one exists and I missed it, then I apologize for filing the bug.

Open page, block the image, watch as the link to mozilla.com disappears permanently from page flow.

This (making them display:none) was a purposeful change for blocked images...
