Already happened twice to me, after the download completes it says "scanning for viruses" and it takes for ever... it just doesn't stop. I'm using kaspersky anti virus 7.0 as my antivirus
Reproducible: Didn't try

I can confirm this bug.
Firefox seems to hang on Wait:WrUserRequest (see pics attached)
Just in case it matters, I do use Firebug and LiveHTTPHeaders.

Daniel / Marius, do you both still see this, using build from ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/nightly/latest-mozilla-1.9.1/ ?
Well, this is quite old. I cannot say it has happened to me lately. But I'm now using a totally different OS, anti-virus and Firefox build. So, as far as I'm aware of, the issue is not existent to me.

This is still happening on Nightly/Win7.
I was not able to reproduce the bug after the initial time, even when downloading the exact same file multiple times (Google Chrome's ChromeSetup.exe for the canary channel) and clearing cache between downloads.
I noticed that when I closed the download window and then re-opened it, the scanning animation was not running any more. Perhaps it is an error and/or race condition in the updating of the UI.

Yes, I can confirm it still happens on 4.0.1 / Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit - it happened just 1-2 days ago and it happened in the past weeks but very rarely.
I have NOD32 running in the background but I didn't do any settings within Firefox about virus checking (but I know NOD32 is actively scanning http objects).

Just happened to me in 10.0a1 (2011-11-02), vista 32 bit. I had a download list of 100+ items. Closing the downloads window and reopening stopped it.

Also having this problem, happens sporadically and not with any specific pattern that I could find.
Currently running Firefox 18.0 on Windows 7 Home Premium x64.
