Details

In bug#413695, we mothballed these physical machines:
bl-bldxp01
bl-bldlnx01
bl-bldlnx02
bl-bldlnx03

Currently, they are racked in the server room downstairs in K.

Now that they are backed up, and powered off, we can consider recycling them for use somewhere. This bug is to track deciding what to do with these machines, and if we have something useful they can do, getting them imaged up, moved to colo and running in that new role.
Priority: -- → P3
From what bug 384966 says about these machines, I don't know if you'd even _want_ these being used as production machines at the colo.
Some more machines we can recycle are:

qm-pxp01
qm-pxp02
qm-pxp03
qm-pxp04
qm-pxp05
qm-plinux01
qm-plinux02
qm-plinux03
qm-plinux04
qm-plinux05

These were from Talos, and Alice confirmed in irc today that they are no longer needed, and there is nothing on them that needs to be backedup, so we can reformat at any time.
Phong: do you have any info on what vintage the machines in comment#0, comment#2 are ?

What about the minis?

ok, cool. In that case, we're done with these. The machines in comment#0 for example have been off for 1-2 years now, iirc. If you can find a good home for any of these, please do. Otherwise, please send them to the Great Salvage Yard in the Sky.

Is there anything left in this bug for IT?

We already have a pile of old hardware at the colo that we're planning on dumping after the office move. This is tracked elsewhere.

I have no desire to take the junk from the Landings server room and move it to the colo.

Do we need this bug open?
assuming not, closing.
