Today there are many groups of people that colloborate on the same topic via a mailing list. The mailing list can be hosted by a wide variety of hostomg companies ie at Google, as a Google Group, or Yahoo, as a YohooGroup.

when a group member wants to change their option on a particular group or range of groups they need to log-into the respective hosting website and make the changes there.

To make the process of managing a members groups easier, I propose that an item to be added to the menu or a GUI button be displayed that provides a FF user a single interface to log into that manages ALL the 'Group' memberships. 'Group' memberships includes all email from groups but not from mailing lists ie TechRepublic or Moziila.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Expected Results:
A single window listing all the groups, alphabetically, that I am subscribed to. A checkbox is availble next tro each list for multiiple selections. Buttons or links next to each allow a user to change their group settings from normal to no mail, and unsubscribe or even change their receipt format from individual to digest mode. The same options must be available at the top of the list so that if a user selects several lists via the checkboxes, they can unsub from many lists at the same time. The change takes place by the web or by each selected list sending the required email to the group host to carry out the action. That email, one per group, can then be placed in the 'Sent' items of Thunderbird so that those with IMAP accounts can mocve the entry to a folder they have created for that particular groups' email.
A feature to look across all the group hosts that are already loaded, or user specified, that will allow a user to search for a group whether it be on Google, Yahoo or wherever.

General mailing list subscribtions could be included in a later release.
How would Firefox know that a stored login refers to a website that is about managing a mailing list that you are subscribed to?
