Got this via email from Sean. For those of us not familiar with SiteAdvisor, what exactly is wrong here ?
logos won't display on google on mcafee site advisor loads up on ie7
This is not a Firefox bug so I'm marking it INVALID. There are several issues that McAfee need to deal with, please contact them instead. Let me illustrate the badness. First off, they set a maxversion of 4.0 in install.rdf when they can have no idea if their extension works in a hypothetical version 4. Their website only promises support for Firefox 1.5 and 2.0, so that's inconsistent. When I try to run SiteAdvisor in Fx3 RC1, then I get the following errors in the Error Console: Failed to load XPCOM component: /Users/nrthomas/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/4mqfjkrf.test/extensions/{1650a312-02bc-40ee-977e-83f158701739}/components/FFHook.dll So their binary component is failing to load. There is also a lot of Security Error: Content at http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=cats&btnG=Google+Search&meta= may not load or link to chrome://safe/locale/safe.css. So they need to figure out how to cope with the tighter file access restrictions in Firefox 3.

Mark: you worked with these folks on the array-prototype issue, right? Wanna get in touch again?
Sean: It looks like you are being affected by bug 292789. A quick summary can be found here: http://starkravingfinkle.org/blog/2008/04/extension-developers-chrome-uri-changes-you/ However, this should not be causing the component load failure.
We're now tracking such bugs. This doesn't mean it's something we can fix, merely something we hope to be able to point vendors to so they can investigate. This is an automated message.

Closing old bugs in the Plugins component. We aren't going to track issues in 3rd-party plugins in the Mozilla bug tracker. In addition, support for NPAPI plugins will be removed at the end of this year; for more details see the post at https://blog.mozilla.org/futurereleases/2015/10/08/npapi-plugins-in-firefox/ If there is a serious bug in Firefox, it needs to be filed in the "Core" product, "Plug-Ins" component.
