Even without usage, links from external apps (IRC clients, Instant Messengers, Mail.app) stop working. Minefield comes to the foreground, but nothing happens.

With usage, I can click links from external apps for a few hours in a minefield session before it stops working. Apparently there's a way to look for error messages, but every time I ask on IRC nobody tells me within an hour so I get tired of it and restart Minefield.

This started happening on or around May 20.

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9pre) Gecko/2008052904 Minefield/3.0pre
So, in #qa I was told to use a new profile. So I did. I barely used it last night, slept with firefox open, and clicked a link in Mail.app this morning. Minefield comes to the foreground and does nothing, just like before. Not a profile corruption issue!

Build identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9pre) Gecko/2008060304 Minefield/3.0pre
I was hoping I wouldn't have to post this, but:

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008061004 Firefox/3.0

Still happens :(
Summary: Links from external apps don't work if Minefield has been open a few hours → Links from external apps don't work if Firefox has been open a few hours
Version: Trunk → 3.0 Branch
I have seen this sparingly on Fx 2014, but it happens more on Fx 3 now. A link will bring Fx to the forefront but won't launch the link.

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008061004 Firefox/3.0

I have a bit of a testcase now. I hadn't seen it for a while, then noticed if I use TweetDeck.app to open a link, it opens in a new firefox window (despite the setting being to open in a new tab). Then links from other apps, like Mail.app, don't work. But, links from TweetDeck.app still work! So there's something with Adobe Air that's doing it at least. I only know of one person at Mozilla using TweetDeck: @johnolilly.
After having not seen this for months and months, because I was on 3.1 branch nightlies, I switched to trunk nightlies recently and even immediately after opening the browser links from external applications bring the browser to the foreground and do not actually open the link.

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.2a1pre) Gecko/20090309 Firefox/3.0.3pre
I've been getting this same problem under Windows 7 and Firefox 3.6.3.
Severity: normal → S3
