Hi,

I'd like to request a second loading implementation next to the excellent http
GET loading functionality we've already got.

Constructing a document from a String will allow to nest xml in xml. To
explain, I can put xml documents in CDATA sections in a xml file, or in a
dynamically loaded xml file, and use these CDATASections to construct new
documents.

Alternatively, the string data could also come from a Java applet.

Third, the data could come from defined ECMAScript strings. This allows to pack
small islands of data in the page script.

I propose a overloaded "load(String src)" syntax if that is possible.

This bug has been marked "future" because the original netscape engineer working
on this is over-burdened. If you feel this is an error, that you or another
known resource will be working on this bug,or if it blocks your work in some way
-- please attach your concern to the bug for reconsideration.

This feature will probably fall out of the work that Vidur is doing on his XML
extras component. Watch out for more information on this soon in the XML
newsgroup.

Although the Parser component from the xmlextras module still has some bugs,
this feature request is basically fulfilled. Marking as "fixed".
