They are there from the last 4 years. The problem occured 1st time something around a month ago. Every week all emails are downloaded over and over again. Sometimes just a part of emails is downloaded and sometimes all emails from the server are downloaded again. There is no problem with downloading new emails. But because the same emails are downloaded so many times, the inbox file grew from 500MB to over 3GB!! And it is growing every week. It is impossible to check a few thousand emails every week and delete those that were downloaded again. Out of 5000 thousand emails we left at servers, Mozilla downloaded them a few times making the Inbox full of more than 21000 emails... There is one more problem steming from this one. We set the function "delete emails from servers only after deleting them from Inbox". First we tried deleting a few of the emails that were downloaded again, but then they disappeared from the servers. So the problem is that after emails are downloaded a few times they can't be deleted from Inbox, because they will start disappearing from servers, even when they are important emails that should stay there. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. It happens on its own. 2. Sometimes emails are downloaded normally - new only. 3. Sometimes all emails are downloaded.
Nope, not the pop server. We've been using Thunderbird for quite a time and the problem started on its own, suddenly. We did not change anything in any settings. We did check the settings after the problem popped up, and the settings for pop servers and everything else were OK. Unless by 'pop server' you mean that there is a problem with the server? ====================================== INTERESTING: I think that during the last two weeks only a minor number of emails is re-downloaded. Again, nothing has been changed in the settings lately.
Wayne meant (in a less succinct manner), "Are you using POP or IMAP?"
OK, I get it. All accounts use pop servers.
