User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052906 Firefox/3.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052906 Firefox/3.0

Firefox 3 does not remember that I want to add my Live Bookmark to the Bookmark Toolbar. Every time I add a Live Bookmark, the add bookmark dialogue's selection always default to Bookmark Menu instead of my last selection, which requires me to perform extra mouse click for selecting Bookmark Toolbar every time. This is different from Firefox 2, where whenever I add a Live Bookmark, it always appear on the Bookmark Toolbar without making any need of selection.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to http://www.michaelnygard.com/blog/
2. At the address bar, click the RSS icon
3. Choose either 'subscribe to Atom' or 'subscribe to RSS 2.0'
4. At the RSS page, click 'Subscribe Now' button
5. The default is to add my Live Bookmark to Bookmarks Menu
6. Change it to Bookmarks Toolbar (at this point on I assume it will be set as default)
7. Revisit http://www.michaelnygard.com/blog/ again
8. Add Live Bookmark again following steps 2 to 4
Actual Results:
The default selection of place to add the Live Bookmark is still Bookmarks Menu not Live Bookmark Toolbar

Expected Results:
At step 8, I expected Bookmarks Toolbar as the default place to add my Live Bookmark

I'm using Firefox 3.0 RC2

Flags: blocking-firefox3?
We haven't persisted previous selection when bookmarking, live bookmarks default to the bookmark toolbar here, not sure why you're seeing different behaviour...

Ria, what are you saying the regression is?

This is not a regression afaict, and would not block 3.1 regardless, as it's not a P1 feature nor a program error without a workaround.

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h".

In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows:
Tools | Message Filters
Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New"
Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h
Change the action to "Delete Message".
Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top.
Click OK.

Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter.
