firefox will not open my gmail while safari will open the above site every time

This problem has been going on over a period of time but was self curing in a matter of hours.  For the past two days it has not corrected itself.  Firefox works on all other sites but we have switched back to Safari.  I test it about three time a day w/o any apparent change.  I am guessing about the component.

No reply, INCOMPLETE. Please retest with Firefox 3.6.10 or later and a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). If you continue to see this issue with the newest firefox and a new profile, then please comment on this bug.
