User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9b5) Gecko/2008050509 Firefox/3.0b5 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9b5) Gecko/2008050509 Firefox/3.0b5 I am unable to import bookmarks that exist within the Bookmarks Toolbar in FF 2, everything after the second level of folders fails to import. Prior to import: Bookmarks Toolbar >Games >WoW >>World of Warcraft >>WoW Wiki >CoH >>City of Heroes Official Site After import: Bookmarks Toolbar >Games >WoW >CoH Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. In FF 2, create folders within Bookmarks Toolbar 2 levels deep: Folder1, Folder1.1 2. Add a link to the last folder in the tree. 3. Open FF3 and import. Actual Results: Anything within Folder1.1 fails to import Expected Results: I should have had the links in the embedded folder.

for your step 3 "Open FF3 and import.", do you mean that you're running Fx3 for the first time? or that you're importing manually via the Bookmarks Library?
I am importing manually. When I ran Fx3 the first time, it didn't import the subfolders correctly either, which led me to attempt it manually.
this is fully WFM with Firefox/3.0.1 ID:2008070208 i tried: * putting Fx2 bookmarks.html in Fx3 profile (there with no places.sqlite) -> ok * file import of the Fx2 bookmark items into an existing Fx3 profile -> ok @Reporter: do you still encounter your issue using the latest Firefox 3 version? you can get a copy of it here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html if not, please close this bug as WORKSFORME. thank you.

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h". In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows: Tools | Message Filters Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New" Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h Change the action to "Delete Message". Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top. Click OK. Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter. Gerv

Both recent Firefox versions (18.0.1 and.2) do not import all bookmarks from all folders from IE8. Some Bookmark folders (all imported from my favorites folder in IE8) are completely empty and some are only partially filled. Tried several ways to import (+ or - cookies, History, etc.) but nothing matters. Same thing happened trying to import from an html file I saved to my Desktop PC in "My Documents" from IE8. Firefox is also unnecessarily adding ".url" to each and every Bookmark it successfully imports.
bug 537930 and bug 829995? Note that you are commenting on a resolved bug, that is quite always the wrong way to report issues.
Then why does it state "Status: RESOLVED INCOMPLETE" at the top of this page? 1) The browsers mentioned above are F# NOT f18.0.1 OR.2 2) SADLY FOR YOU PEOPLE,IT APPEARS TO ME THAT YOU ARE MAKING IT WA-A-AY TO **** YOUR DEDICATED USERS TO COME UP WITH ANY APPRECIABLE AND USER-FRIENDLY SOLUTIONS TO ISSUES THEY ARE HAVING WITH YOUR BROWSERS!!! 3) I have been using your browsers since version 10. 4) Perhaps you do not appreciate us and therefore we should just go elsewhere for our browser needs!!! THANKS FOR WASTING MY TIME!!!
