Purchased new HP C6250 All-in-One printer.  After loading HP Photosmart v9.0.1 for printer, Firefox will not open.  i.e. screen does not change and "Task Manageer" does not show Firefox to be running.
Went to "Set Program Access and Defaults" and attempted to select Mozilla Firefox as default web browser.  Upon clicking "OK" selection defaults back to "Use current web browser".
The HP software appears to seekout IE and inhibit anyother web browzer from running.
Uninstalled the HP software and Firefox.  Installed a cean copy of Firefox from Mozilla website, but that did not correct the problem.
Firefox worked as advertised prior to installing the HP software.

We implemented for such problem the Firefox safemode and placed a link in the Windows startmenu. Did you try that ?
