Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1a1pre) Gecko/2008060618 Minefield/3.1a1pre This works fine for me. It continues loading.
Hi, open a new tab with e.g. this link http://www.janfiete.de/cgi-bin/wait.pl (it is a script that waits 5 seconds before it produces anything) Grab the tab and wait the 5 seconds. In fact I see after the 5 seconds while it is grabbed that "Loading..." in the tab changes into the URL of the page. If you drop it now, there is no content. It seems to me that it is important that the rendering did not start yet when the window is started to be grabbed...
I was not able to reproduce it (Windows XP). In fact the tab loads while I'm dragging the ghost of the tab. As soon as I release it, the already loaded tab jumps to the new place.
Jan: You might want to update to the latest version of Firefox 3 where this issue is WORKSFORME.
