this wfm in windows and mac mozilla bits from today 062608
Was working friday 06/30 on windows and mac, but now is broken on all 
platforms.Commercial 2000-07-05-08-M17.

Its working for me in today's build in linux and windows debug build. Anybody 
still see this?
I'm using the windows build from yesterday 7/05, and I still see it.

I'll try again with today's build.

Sidebar Search is also broken - observed in Mac 070521 bld.

just tried the 2000070620 Linux build and no love, I get the following error:

same result with the 2000070608 build on Win98 (Comm. opt build) upping severity
as this is a major loss of important function.
blee is correct, sidebar search is completely broken as well. Elevating to (testing) blocker since we have 0% search functionality in 
the product right now nad there is nothing to test.

If this was blocking, why didn't it get upped to blocker on the 27th?
search in sidebar and urlbar works sporadically for me. When it doesn't work, it 
crashes in the following stack. I have n't seen the exception message that 
claudius has mentioned. I have no clue what this stack trace means.

Is clicking on the search button really a smoketest blocker? I'm not sure I buy
that unless it's in the list....

the crash is occuring in some box code. Let's cc evaughan on this so he can help
 you out.

I have a debug commercial build now. search from sidebar works once. Second 
time, it crashes in the stack trace below. Search from the urlbar consistently 
gives the exception that claudius has mentioned.
Linux optimised builds give the message,  "A pure virtual method was called" 
before it crashes.

sidebar searches somehow magically work right now(Win98 comm. opt. 2000071008) and that's the only reason I'm not bitching 
about this as a blocker right now.

urlbar searches still don't.
Radha, where you seeing any crashes with commercial builds?
I've only seen the exception on Comm. builds but i did see a mozilla build crash, am I mixed up or is commercial vs. mozilla
actually relevant here?

Is this commercial only?  I've had no problems with mozilla builds since I found
this bug on 6/26.  Testing mozilla mac and win32 bits on OS9 and NT.  Works
today 071108 mac mozilla and win32 mozilla bits.
I'm using Mozilla build 2000071208 and I can search from the URL bar just fine.
Searching from the sidebar, though, is not working. I get
Error getting url widget service: TypeError: Components.classes[progid] has no
properties

I looked at this and I have a fix for the commerical build no searching
It looks like we are missing a line in properties.navagator

I'm assigning it to me.
