It's nice that Firefox setup searches for previous installations. However, if it is installed from a (large) networked drive, you should warn the user that Setup may be tied up for more than 10 minutes, while searching.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Copy Firefox installer to a windows networked drive, say z:\, with over 40G
2. Run z:\setup.exe
3. Follow prompts, up through standard installation
4. wait
5. wait some more
Actual Results:
Closed install program out of impatience. Ran better from local drive
Expected Results:
Warning that install could take more than, say, 10 minutes would help.

Was the message displayed during this time "Checking existing installation"?
If not, what message was displayed?
Did you have a previous installation on the network drive?

Sorry, I no longer have access to a windows network. This sounds appropriate, however. If you can get such an environment, you should be able to see this.
I recall that this was for a new installation.
