Anything pertinent show up in about:crashes?
Initially when X is pressed on the download manager nothing is apparent. After awhile trying to do anything with FF shows that the application has actually frozen or locked. It is totally unresponsive to user interaction. Trying to recover I pressed the X on the FF window to close the application. After several minutes FF finally shuts down and a windows error dialogue box pops up showing - do you what to send error report to Microsoft............ After this I can relaunch FF and carry on as normal. When the error first occurred I could reproduce it easily on several occasions. Since then however it has only shown up once.

tibord, ever see this again?
Wayne, I saw the bug a few times under similar circumstances to my original report. Shortly after I switched from Windows to Ubuntu Linux & FF3. On this platform I have not noted any problem.
thanks tibord => incomplete without test data or environment, or crash report
