User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en; rv:1.8.1.14) Gecko/20080512 Camino/1.6.1 (like Firefox/2.0.0.14)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en; rv:1.8.1.14) Gecko/20080512 Camino/1.6.1 (like Firefox/2.0.0.14)

For several days now, and after upgrading to Camino 1.6.1 I cannot paste URLs without Camino beaching on me, for several minutes. I have to force-quit to free up gigabytes of memory.
The same URL loads fine in Safari or Firefox. The URL is copied from a TextEdit text document. Typing the url by hand works fine. Pasting in regular HTML text fields is fine.

I've added two crash reports. It seems to me the bug is in NSScanner. Or maybe I have an InputManager, like 1Password, that messes things up? I'll investigate further.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Copy URL from TextEdit text doc.
2. Paste in Camino
3.
Actual Results:
Beachball (immediate), unresponsiveness of Camino. Other apps run fine, and I have to force-quit Camino.

Expected Results:
Load the url and allow for some happy browsing.

I use several inputmanagers (Hmm, I should delete some old ones):
GrowlCamino
Smart Crash Reports
1Passwd|M (1PasswordManager)
Hm, I could not add the crash reports in BugZilla. At least, I cannot find out how.
I've put them online at http://www.roeroe.nl/Camino_crash.zip

Use the 'Add an attachment' link above.

Can you reproduce this when using a default profile? 'TroubleShoot Camino' can help automating this (http://pimpmycamino.com/parts/troubleshoot-camino).

Could you attach that document here, and explain which link? I'd like to figure out what the control character is that the formatter trying to strip. I assume that the problem is specific to this one URL?

Please don't ever file bugs until you have reproduced them without having any input managers installed.
These are the two crash reports mentioned.
Thanks, Axel. We still need to know specifically what URL (or URLs) is/are hanging it up, though.
Hardware: Macintosh → All
I've removed all my input managers, and the problem seems fixed. However, I will continue the next couple of days without these and report back later.
I've set up some URLs that caused the beachballing:

http://roeroe.nl/tst/1234567890/testfile.part.rar.html
http://roeroe.nl/tst/1234567890/testfile.part3.rar.html

As soon as I pasted these, the beaching occurred, even without pressing enter. So, maybe definitely an inputmanager. I'll experiment some more this weekend with the 1Password inputmanager.

Oh, I forgot to mention: I also ran 'TroubleShoot Camino'. Changed too many parameters this way. Sorry for the confusion. I'll try to do a rigorous test this weekend.
Can someone put this bug on 'hold' until further notice, please?
Based on comment 6, this is INVALID as a bug in 1Password.

It should be reported to the 1Password developers, however.
