From IRC discussion: I was putting a link to the SUMO forum on a page I use as my home page. I wanted to have the link display the first four pages, so I appended &comments_per_page=80 to the URL. For HTML validation, however, you mustn't have ampersands in markup; they must be replaced with & in body text or %26 in URLs. However, the link does not work with %26 in the URL instead of an ampersand. To wit: [http://support.mozilla.com/tiki-view_forum.php?forumId=1%26comments_per_page=80] is not the same as [http://support.mozilla.com/tiki-view_forum.php?forumId=1&comments_per_page=80]; it gives an error.
Never mind; this is a misunderstanding on my part. & works in the URL.
